Naturalmente, querr\u00e1 al mejor cirujano. Preguntar\u00e1 a m\u00e9dicos y amigos por referencias del m\u00e1s reputado, y si son \u00f3ptimas, le confiar\u00e1 la vida de su familiar a alguien que hasta hace muy poco era un total desconocido.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sea que busquemos un cirujano, un abogado, un ejecutivo o un asistente, siempre nos guiaremos por la reputaci\u00f3n que le precede. Confiamos m\u00e1s en lo que nos dicen terceros que en lo que dice o promete el propio &#8220;vendedor&#8221; de servicios profesionales. Este &#8220;boca a boca&#8221; funciona para casi todo lo que buscamos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los profesionales &#8220;vendemos&#8221; nuestros servicios a quienes nos contratan. As\u00ed, es de especial inter\u00e9s que nuestra reputaci\u00f3n sea consistente con quienes somos y con nuestras metas. Las referencias son claves para la empleabilidad. A mejor reputaci\u00f3n, m\u00e1s empleabilidad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Por ejemplo, en procesos de recolocaci\u00f3n, quienes buscan contratar revisan exhaustivamente las referencias, tanto las &#8220;formales&#8221; (las sugeridas) como las &#8220;informales&#8221;, contactando directamente a ex jefes, subordinados, pares o ex clientes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Conoc\u00ed a un magn\u00edfico arquitecto, pero que ten\u00eda problemas de relaci\u00f3n con sus clientes. Al tiempo, su reputaci\u00f3n de &#8220;dif\u00edcil&#8221; acab\u00f3 con su \u00e9xito. Lo mismo pas\u00f3 con un excelente ejecutivo financiero, cuya arrogancia le impidi\u00f3 cuidar sus relaciones con sus pares, limitando sus posibilidades de promoci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Por otro lado, las faltas de \u00e9tica o de integridad son obviamente las principales destructoras de la reputaci\u00f3n y rara vez quedan mucho tiempo escondidas: hoy todo se sabe y muy r\u00e1pido.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ciertamente, la reputaci\u00f3n de un profesional se fundamenta en la calidad del servicio que brinda, pero tambi\u00e9n hay un alto componente subjetivo. Est\u00e1 basada no solo en lo bien que se hace el trabajo, sino tambi\u00e9n en c\u00f3mo los otros lo conocen, perciben y mejor a\u00fan, aprecian y valoran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lo interesante es que muchas personas trabajan de espaldas al cuidado de su reputaci\u00f3n. Unos creen que solo deben preocuparse de ella con clientes, jefes o superiores y la descuidan con proveedores, pares o subordinados. Otros creen que basta con ser buenos en su trabajo y caen en la complacencia de no mantenerse visibles ni tender redes de confianza con quienes interact\u00faan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mi mam\u00e1 siempre dec\u00eda: &#8220;No solo hay que ser buena sino tambi\u00e9n parecerlo&#8221;. Ella probablemente se refer\u00eda a cuidar la buena imagen de personas serias y formales que esperaba que sus hijas merecieran y tuvieran. Pero esa frase se aplica tambi\u00e9n a la necesidad que tenemos no solo de hacer bien nuestro trabajo y vivir con integridad, sino de preocuparnos por ser reconocidos como tales, pero actuando siempre con sencillez y sobriedad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El Per\u00fa tiene hoy una bien ganada reputaci\u00f3n que le permite ser anfitri\u00f3n de dos importantes foros internacionales y recibir inversiones de todo el globo.
