Escuch\u00e9 hace poco la expresi\u00f3n \u201ctrigo limpio\u201d para describir a personas honestas, y correctas, esas en quienes podemos confiar. Me encant\u00f3. En la vida personal y profesional todos queremos rodearnos de gente as\u00ed: buenas personas, con valores, humanas y solidarias. Hacen la vida y el trabajo mucho m\u00e1s f\u00e1ciles y agradables.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pero con nuestro cerebro especialmente atento a las amenazas para protegernos, hablamos m\u00e1s de quienes enga\u00f1an, traicionan o hacen da\u00f1o. El reto es no permitir que los malos ejemplos nos hagan desconfiar de todos, volvernos c\u00ednicos al respecto, o peor a\u00fan, dejar de valorar la integridad a la hora de escoger con quien vincularnos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Saber separar el trigo limpio de la paja nos ahorra decepciones y conflictos. No confundamos simpat\u00eda con integridad: alguien puede ser brillante, encantador y convincente, y aun as\u00ed no ser confiable. Las apariencias seducen; el car\u00e1cter se demuestra. La confianza merecida no nace de las buenas impresiones ni de las grandes promesas: se construye con hechos y se comprueba con el tiempo.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00bfEn qu\u00e9 fijarnos? Comparto once se\u00f1ales:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Dice la verdad.<\/b> Incluso cuando le incomoda o no le conviene. No inventa versiones ni acomoda los hechos a sus intereses.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Es coherente.<\/b> Sus actos respaldan sus palabras y sus valores, consistentemente.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. No maquilla su pasado.<\/b> Puede hablar de sus errores sin esconderlos ni reescribir su historia para quedar bien.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Cumple su palabra.<\/b> No promete para impresionar. Si no puede cumplir, lo explica y da la cara.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Asume sus errores.<\/b> No busca siempre culpables ni excusas. Sabe disculparse y, sobre todo, reparar.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. No manipula.<\/b> No distorsiona la realidad ni juega con las emociones ajenas para conseguir lo que quiere.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Trata bien a todos.<\/b> Su respeto no depende del cargo, del dinero ni de lo que alguien pueda ofrecerle.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Respeta a los ausentes.<\/b> No desacredita a otros ni utiliza sus confidencias para beneficio propio.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Es leal.<\/b> Acompa\u00f1a y sabe discrepar. No confunde lealtad con encubrir lo incorrecto.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Celebra el \u00e9xito ajeno.<\/b> Reconoce m\u00e9ritos, agradece y comparte oportunidades sin envidia.<\/span><\/li>\n
  11. Hace lo correcto aunque le cueste.<\/b> Sus principios no cambian seg\u00fan la conveniencia o el p\u00fablico.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Por supuesto que nadie es perfecto. Una mala decisi\u00f3n no define una vida, pero el car\u00e1cter se reconoce en los comportamientos que se repiten y, sobre todo, cuando hacer lo correcto tiene costo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Ser \u201ctrigo limpio\u201d deber\u00eda importar, y mucho, al elegir l\u00edderes y personas con quienes vincularnos en lo personal y profesional. Miremos sus competencias, capacidades y resultados;, pero tambi\u00e9n, y m\u00e1s importante, c\u00f3mo los consiguieron y c\u00f3mo tratan a los dem\u00e1s. El talento por s\u00ed solo no basta: la capacidad sin integridad o valores firmes pueden hacer mucho da\u00f1o, especialmente en quienes ejercen poder o gozan de nuestra confianza. Que sean \u201ctrigo limpio\u201d no deber\u00eda ser un lujo sino un requisito.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Y, para ser consecuentes: <\/span>\u00bfsomos nosotros trigo limpio?<\/b> Porque no basta con exigir personas confiables, debemos serlo tambi\u00e9n.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
